2021 Virtual GCC Annual Conference
6/22/2021 - 6/25/2021

Event Description

We invite you to register for the GCC's 2021 Virtual Conference!

Meeting the Moment: Re-evaluating and Re-inventing Career and Professional Development
A Conference for Leaders in Graduate and Postdoctoral Career and Professional Development
This is a poignant time for us and, as such, we invite the GCC community to come together to collectively share and reflect on ways we have addressed challenges exacerbated in the past year.  These challenges include, but are not limited to: racial inequality, mental health, financial scarcity, and virtual program delivery, and how these will shape the way we re-invent for the future. Through innovation, creativity, and collaboration, we are enriching the career and professional development of the populations we serve to create spaces and communities that value diversity, accessibility, and belonging.

The core dates and times of the conference are:

  • Wednesday, June 23rd 12:00 pm to 5:30 pm ET

  • Thursday, June 24th 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm ET

  • Friday, June 25th 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm ET

We have organized a welcome reception on Tuesday, June 22nd at 7pm ET. A pre-conference on Tuesday, June 22nd is also available for new professionals from 12-5pm ET.  Visit the conference schedule at a glance and overview of the keynote presentations.

We will once again utilize Whova as our conference app, to organize content and to facilitate community building activities for the GCC. Once you register, you will then be given access to the conference in Whova.

2021 Conference Fees

Member Type Fee
Full Member $150
Trainees/Emeritus $75
Pre-conference     $50

The "Pre conference Workshop for New Graduate Career Professionals" is designed for those new to the GCC, to introduce them to the work of the GCC and to colleagues across the GCC's membership.  We will share examples of the work we do, identify resources, and get to know one another.

**You must be a current GCC member to register for the conference.

Recognizing that many of our colleagues are experiencing budgetary restrictions and that systemic inequities across higher education contribute to differential access to resources available to support the professional development of GCC members, the GCC is offering a limited number of scholarships to support the partial or full cost of the conference and pre-conference fee.

To apply for a scholarship, please click here.  The application deadline for scholarships is May 12th, 5pm ET.
Do not register for the conference if you plan to apply for a scholarship.  Scholarship awards will be announced June 4th.

***Only current GCC members can apply for scholarships

And finally, a sincere thank you to our current sponsors! These include American Chemical Society, Beyond the Professoriate, Case Coach, The Genetics Society of America, The Self-Compassionate Professor & VersatilePhD
