The goal of this event is to allow all GCC members across affiliations to ask questions and get advice on: (1) Explore strategies and share insights for successfully hiring international professionals. (2) Address common challenges and provide practical solutions such as organizational hesitations and visa complexities, or mitigating visa risks in hiring. (3) Learn best practices on how to collaborate with internal stakeholders (international office, HR) and demonstrate the value of international talent to one’s institution. Q&A session will conclude the panel.

 

This event will feature 2 leaders in career and professional development:

• Patricia Simpson - Director, Academic Advising & Career Services, School of Chemical Sciences, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

• Jennifer M. Neef - Director, The Career Center | Testing Center, Student Success, Inclusion, and Engagement, Student Affairs | University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

 

The panel discussion will be moderated by Ioannis Vasileios Chremos, PhD from University of Michigan Medical School.
